And if thy brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee. 13 And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty: 14 Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy winepress: of that wherewith the Lord thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give unto him. 15 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the Lord thy God redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing to day.
This scripture deals primarily with the release of a debt that someone who does not have the ability to pay. A slave or a servant was not to be released empty handed. Part of redeeming is not only removing the person from under the bondage of slavery but to establish them with wealth or an inheritance as they start their new life as a free man. We see this pattern with the children of Israel who was under bondage to Pharaoh for 430 years but when the blood was applied on the two side post of their homes it was an act of redemption. Now, as they prepared to leave God instructed the women to collect from the Egyptians as they moved from under bondage to their new life as a free man. They received a type of inheritance which is the by product of a son of God. This occurred also when God saved you; he moved you from a slave to a son and included you into his will. The redeemed of The Lord are told to “say they are redeemed” because it is an acknowledgement of being moved from slave to son, cursed to the blessing, sickness to healed, lost to found, poverty to prosperity. The redeemed person know that they are entitled to the inheritance by virtue of sonship. A slave does not respond because he knows he has no right nor inheritance but a son responds because he understands that inheritance is part of the adoption process. I am hearing a sound in the background but I am unable to clarify the sound but as the sound gets closer to me I hear a distinction in the sound. Oh! now I know what I am hearing; it is the voices of the Sons of God praising him for redeeming them and presenting them with their inheritance.
